Erstmals in der Bundesrepublik wurde am Mittwoch, den 03.Juli 2002 im Rahmen des von der US-Raumfahrtbehörde NASA ins Leben gerufenen Projektes ARISS (Amateur Radio on ISS) von Schülern des Progymnasiums in
72348 Rosenfeld ein weltweit verfolgter, direkten Sprechkontakt mit der an Bord der ISS befindlichen US-Astronautin
Peggy Whitson geführt.
Initiiert und ermöglicht wurde der Sprechfunkkontakt durch die radioastronomische Abteilung der Sternwarte
Zollern-Alb e.v., von der auch die Antragstellung bei der NASA und den internationalen Koordinatoren (ARISS )
vorgenommen wurde.

For the first time in the Federal Republic of Germany, pupils of the Rosenfeld Highschool had a radio communication with the International Space Station ISS. Supported by ARISS (Amateur Radio on ISS), they talked with US astronaut
Peggy Whitson on wednesday, 2002-07-03.
The contact with the ISS was supported by the radioastronomical group of the Zollern-Alb-Observatory, which also is responsilbe for the contacts to NASA and ARISS.
